Meet the Doctor

Dr. Watts completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University with a degree in Human Biology. He attended medical school at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. Upon graduation from medical school, Dr. Watts received training in general psychiatry at the Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center (LAC + USC). While in residency, he held a variety of leadership positions, including Chief of the On Call Doctor Program for the LAC+USC Psychiatric Emergency Room. In this capacity, he coordinated the management of one of the busiest psychiatric emergency rooms in the United States.

Dr. Watts furthered his training during his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Recognized for his excellent clinical skills and leadership qualities, he was selected as the Chief Fellow during his final year of fellowship.
He has practiced in a variety of settings across the greater San Diego area. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Watts is actively involved with several non-profit organizations. As an Associate Physician at UCSD, Dr. Watts is actively engaged in providing care to a variety of different patient populations. Some of his time is also dedicated to instructing medical students as a volunteer clinical instructor for the UCSD Student-Run Free Clinic Project.

Dr. Watts has served as the Council President of the San Diego Chapter of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Adult and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Watts maintains an unrestricted license to practice medicine in California.
